Ghost of past friendships

This thing kept coming back to haunt me whenever i had time to think about my friends (or wat i call used-to-be friends) of my past. Be it those who are/were important in my life, those who had left me deep impressions regardless of fond or foul memories. I know clinging on to the past is no good, but they just keep on coming back to me.

People come and go, it's part and parcel of life. Meeting new people is easy but maintaining a friendship requires both parties to put in tat little bit of effort to make sure tat it lasts, just like a BGR. I am someone who doesn't really wan to put in too much effort if i know something just won't work out, so when i see no results when i tried putting in effort in maintaining one seemingly feeble friendship, tat 'friend' of mine will just become an acquaintance. It's easy tat way isn't it?

This might sound like jus an emo freak trying to complain about how people neglect him but it's not. Ultimately it's all about communications. A simple "how are you today?", "wan to go out tgt?" or even something tat seems really not relevant to u in life like "tobey mcguire quits spiderman 4" means something. Like someone close in my life told me, this means tat those who msg u are thinking of you, at the very least.

Apologies to my friends whom i had neglected these past few weeks/months, things had changed in my life and i'm not as free as i use to be already. But i'll try to make time for u guys as hard as i'm trying to make time for myself.

Poor Mama

Day started off like any other today until sis called in the morning to inform me that mom fell down at her work place and fractured her leg as well as she cracked her kneecap (apparently her supervisor mopped the floor without informing anyone and mom happened to walk past the wet floor where she slipped and fall).

When i received the call from my sis, i almost felt like my heart was going to stop when she said mom got hospitalised. It's almost like the same feeling when i knew grandma was hospitalised and when she had passed away 2 years ago. But luckily mom only had a really bad fall, nothing worst happened. I tried concentrating on my work and a scene from Mitch Albom's "Tuesdays with Morrie" came to my mind; the sentence or phrase goes something like this, Morrie asked his children to continue their normal life and want them to work instead of staying with him because he knew that there's nothing they can do even if they want to.

Went over to A.H to visit her after work and saw that her right knee was in seriously bad shape. It was so swollen that it's like 3 times a normal knee should look like. Mom told me before that her leg was like totally detached from the joint (joined together only by the skin and muscles). The scene was really saddening to see when i saw her tears kept flowing out from the side of her eyes due to the pain she was experiencing even though she was not crying out load back then. However the good thing was that at least she is still conscious and wanted dad to buy 4D for her, diaoz.

Then she was complaining to me that she can't wear the heels she bought for lunar new year in another month's time. Well, i replied to her that it's still a consolation that at least she still can use her hands for "dry swimming" with my aunts and uncles.

When it was time to leave, sis volunteered to stay over to acc mom thru the night. I hav to work tml and dad will be going over in the morning to take over the 'morning shift' so we will just need to go home 1st. It was pretty obvious that dad doesn't really wan to go back home becos he is too worried about mom. Sis called not too long after when we got onto the bus at around 9.40pm to inform us that mom was preparing to be pushed into the operation theatre.

Shall see how's the situation tml and might stay over tml night to acc her if she is still being hospitalised. Hope she gets well soon...
