I had a really unpleasant experience today while trying to develop my photos in causeway point just now. The shop tat i always goes to (Standard Photo #01-13), to develop my photos hav the worst shop assistants ever. Not just tat they are unhelpful, they are also impatience and don't value their customers. One very good example is tat i always see tat they are not very willing to attend to customers in distress when they are unsure of how to get their photos printed or uploaded into the computer at the stations. The shop assistants' answers to the customers question will always just a few words (i.e "just press tis, ya lah ya lah") and worst of all having the stop-asking-or-bother-me kind of attitute.
What i've unhappy about their service is bcos of a small request that i wanted from them but got turned away in a straight no tone by the shop assistants when they don't even hav the intention of helping in anyways. Cos i was having a slight problem with the picture exposure for one of the camp photo, i requested if i could hav a test print for just 2 of the same photos but with diff exposure settings so i can hav a comparison on which photo is better. The shop assistants insisted i hav to pay $3 for the printing charge even though i told them i will b printing a whole lot more photos later once i've decide on which photo exposure is the best. Since they are so sticking to their "rules", i hav no choice but to just walk out of the shop and find another alternative.
I went downstairs to B1 and there is another photo developing shop (Photopress #B1-39), so i went in and asked the same qn, hoping not to get the same kind of response from them. Indeed, they agreed so i had my test prints without having the need of paying extra charges other than the fee for developing the 2 photos. They bended their "rule" of having the need of paying an extra charge if u print less than a certain amount of photos from their machine (not those instant ones though) which made me quite impressed. After that i asked if i could look at how the pictures look like b4 it is bring mass printed and they agreed as well, had a couple of reprints but they are still willing to adjust the photos for me. End of the day, i still get a 10% discount from them due to the great amount of pictures printed (total cost $100.35). Good job, well done and i can say i will never ever wan to step foot on Standard photo anymore due to the fact tat their service and HR sux to the core.
Ultimately, i feel tat in service line it's either u giv ur customers an extra mile service making them extra happy, extra valued or u giv them an extra more shitty feeling. For me, i've experienced the ends of both world within 10 minutes. Jus wanting to ask, is GEMS out there just to show off or r the people in this industry really practising it? What's the use of having GEMS when we consumers are still receving this kind of standards? Hopefully staffs at Standard Photo will not regret their actions and still remember that they do not monopolise the photo developing industry and thus tone down their yaya-papaya attitute. Argh!
