Typical Singaporean

The daily wasted traveling time of 3hrs is really a bitch, can't stand it but i still hav another yr to endure, another 365 x 3hrs of precious time(will b lesser after deducting holidays and weekends). Now i can't even bring cam phone to work so it's kinda back to basics, basic army style.

Every morning before boarding the bus to work beside Redhill MRT station, there will be an auntie giving out "My Paper", since it's free i happily help myself to the daily does of outdated news of the previous day in both english and chinese. Time to buck up on my languages, haha.

So i came across tis article commenting on "Graceful Singaporean", of cos the topic wasn't saying how graceful Singapore can be, instead it was about how IMPOSSIBLE for Singaporeans to b gracious. I don't agree it to a certain extent, i jus agree to tat TOTALLY! Concurrently my evil self was playing a futuristic video clip in the mini theatre in my mind. The video shows someone "googling" about Singaporeans with keywords tat will surely direct them to the links they are looking for, keywords are as follows;

1. KIASU
2. Rude
3. Inconsiderate (Too much examples to b given, no need to elaborate much)
4. Impolite
5. Impatient
6. Loves to complain
7. Making big Hoo-Haa out of every single thing (since Singapore is small, i guess any small thing will become a national news, i.e pet cockroach died in an traffic accident, etc)
8. Unprofessional at work (quoting from some sales assistant(s); "everything is there, got means got, don't hav means don't hav lor)
9. Greedy (People will queue mindlessly for free gifts tat are not useful or useless, since it's FREE)
10. Smug and proud a.k.a Hao Lian
11. Take things for granted (Expect people to be good to them but will never reciprocate)
12. Unkind
13. Selfish
14. KPO (nosy)
15. Unhelpful
16. No initiatives
17. Always rushing blindly to a certain somewhere
18. Late
19. Resentful (it's a vicious cycle)
20. Unappreciative
21. Money management problem (upcoming issue for teenages and mayb some adult?)
22. Insensitive
23. ALWAYS THINK TAT THEY ARE RIGHT, OTHERS ARE ALWAYS WRONG

Sad to say i carry some of the traits tat i've mentioned above (i'm still a Singaporean, duh). I think the main issue here is tat people are jus being hostile without even thinking or attempting to solve the problem. When people get angry others around kinda get affected, making them becoming hostile, so things get worst (alittle extreme but true). There were rare cases of people helping each other, clearing misunderstanding though.

As time goes by, i've grown more 'immune' to tis kind of things. What really shock me or surprises me nowadays are not how rude people can get or how 'ungracious' they are but how nice or kind people can get. A rare scene indeed but they do exist, people bringing warmth and joy to others around, mostly the elderly though (youngster? Mayb a 1/10000000000000000 chance), hard to find without a doubt. Hopefully Singaporeans won't get condemned to the deepest depth of hell in the near or later future in other countries or even by our own people.

p.s I get free papers to read and i did my best to make good use of the papers, don't worry, :P
