The fact that lack of sleep can really make ppl grumpy is so totally true. I hav been feeling like some gone-case-crazy-old-pissy-menopause-granny lately and i can tell you it's so not fun. The only way to keep myself calm is to; A) keep myself away from thinking of work, B) work in a no-hijackers environment where they jus kept interrupting my never-ending pile of crap load, C) no work to do.
My cabbing experiences for the past few days were totally crap, or i would rather say totally fucked-up:
Tuesday:
got on a cab from SBG, told the cab driver that i wan to go to Hort Park. He replied: "hort what?" I hav to reply hort park like a total of billion times and he still donno what is it. I got so pissed that i almost lost my cool and tell him HORT FUCK! good thing i didn't though. Told him that it is beside Alexandra Arc and the best thing was he donno where is tat. Reached my destination somehow with no extra distance incurred.
Thursday:
called a cab from SBG, waited for 10mins and called back to the cab service provider again. The operator told me the cab had left awhile ago vand i got some freaking pissed and amazed that ppl can hijack a "on-call" cab. Almost scolded the operator but i didn't and i'm glad i can contain myself from exploding since it's not the operator's fault anyway. Unlucky thing was there was no cab for the next 5-7mins after i told the operator that i don't wan any cab from them -_-".
Today:
got onto a cab today and told the cabbie that i wanted to go to marina barrage. Something deja vu happened and felt like nuking the whole cab down. The taxi driver told me he donno how to go and i hav to keep on telling him i'm going to marina barrage as he insisted tat i'm going to marina boulevard. This time round i asked the uncle to drop me at the nearest taxi stand so that i can ask someone who know how to go there to send me to my destination. And that uncle kept insisting that nobody will know unless i provide a guide for them to go there. Argh! I mean it's quite a well-known place in singapore and yet cabbies can say that they don't even know this place existed. So after dropping me at somewhere in orchard, i was only charged $3 despite the fare exceeding that amount. A good example of a customer recovery strategy i guess?
Back to the topic, in this case i would want to say that it's really not wrong to say that "hey uncle, u shd know the way wat!". Since this is wat they choose to work as, they shd really provide such service to their customers. What happens if a baker don't even know how to bake after a few years at work? The same thing applies as well. Cabbies not only shd at least know how to drive and shd know the places in singapore (at least the more famous ones) or at the very very least find out for their customers rather than telling them "i donno wat u r talking about or i donno how to go leh" even after u had used mandarin and english to tell them where the hell u wan to go. It all boils down to responsibility as well as the passion to serve someone.
Argh, can't believe i can rant so much even when i'm like totally shagged out. Early entry and an early goodnight sleep ahead. Yet another b-z day coming up tml, sianz!!!!
